Terrence Karn has been a character dancer, global musician, dance and music instructor, accompanist, and composer for over 40 years. He has performed with Andahazy Ballet, Hamburg State Opera Ballet and Houston Grand Opera. Terrence has composed music for Travesty Dance Group, Several Dancers Core, Julie Fox, and Dominic Walsh Dance Theater. He performs with and is the Co-Director of Gypsy Dance Theater and has played music with Greg Harbar‘s Gypsies, Moodafaruka, and his own collaborative world music ensemble, Global Grooves. As an educator, Terrence seeks to share the gift of music and dance through educational outreach that has included work with Young Audiences of Houston, Jane Weiner’s Kids Play – Houston & New Orleans, and as the Musical Director of the Youth Arts Program at the Bates Dance Festival. Terrence was the resident dance accompanist for the University of Houston for eight years, instructor and accompanist at Hopecenter, and performed and played music in Houston before moving to Ohio in 2007. Recently returning from his 11th  year at Bates, he is in his 4th year as the Resident Musician at Denison University.
